World Snow Day

World Snow Day activities are taking place this Sunday in Yellowknife. GSSA will be hosting an open leisurely ride for all members and general public starting at 10 am on Sunday. Meet on Frame Lake by City Hall invite your friends and ride the trails around town with a little stop for a fire and hot chocolate. We will have you home by dark.

Members have started to groom the trails with the new snowfall, we are still looking for volunteers to help with grooming. If you are interested contact michael.arbuckle@hotmail.com

Not much to report on the trail conditions this week but here is what I have. Exposed rocks leaving Hay Lake headed toward Prosperous, also sticks and rocks showing in abnormal places due to low water levels. Ingraham Trail brush clearing has left some nasty stumps so be careful when riding within the highway’s corridor. The trail from the YK RIver to Walsh Lake is rutted bad from quad use; of course more snow needed.

If riding in town I’ve heard that a city sewage line burst in the Frame Lake South district. Exact location not known but I believe it’s on the trail behind Hordal, or maybe between Deh Cho Blvd and Kam Lake Road.

If you are out and about this weekend please drop us a line and let us know what you have experienced out there on the trails.

Happy Trails
