A Colder Winter for 2014-15

August Update

Hello Trail Riders

I hope everyone has had a great summer despite the smoke and lack of rain.

The executive has been busy over the summer preparing a proposal for the National Trail Coalition to place trail signage along the major trails. The proposal has been submitted and is presently in the hands of the Regional Advisory Committee to make a recommendation. As we were the only snowmobile group to make a submission there should not be any concerns. The signs will be placed at the edge of a lake. The sign will indicate the name of the lake and the distance to Yellowknife. The signs will be placed over the winter.

The Community Showcase Night is on Sept. 3 at the Multiplex. GSSA will have a table there and will be promoting the club. Membership Application Forms will be available.

This February 11 to 15, 2015, Whitecourt, AB. is holding a World Snowmobile Invasion. Check out the web site. One of the events will be an attempt to set a world record of over 850 snowmobiles on the trail at one time. This area always has great snow and has a well organized trail system.

No date has been set as yet but our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held in mid to late October.
